Types of data we collect
We may collect and store the following data as you use our website:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site
- Details of transactions you carry out through our site
- If you contact us; we may keep a record of that correspondence.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
When you complete a contact form on our website we will only ask for information that is relevant and important to providing and improving our services. For example, your name, email, delivery address where required, your reason for choosing Smovey, and any other relevant information that you provide that helps us to understand your needs and provide an excellent service to you. We will store your information indefinitely or until such time as you request it to be removed, or we decide to remove it. Your data will be stored securely and used to provide the service as requested by you via the contact form. If you decide to opt-in for marketing, promotions, offers, content, or updates we will send you only the materials, advertising, or content that you have opted in to receive.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you call into our office or we meet you at one of our events and you decide to make a purchase of Smovey or to book onto one of our courses. We will ask you for your name, email address, mobile phone number, and why you want to use smovey.
We will firstly write this down on our customer contact forms and then this information is inputted and stored on our secure Zoho CRM system in the office.
Securely storing this data ensures the details of your purchases are available for you, in case of any query or concern at a later date.
We use a locked filing cabinet to store any contracts and essential business notes, the only people with Keys are the business owner Irene Treacy and the office manager.
This is monitored and tidied several times every year to ensure all data is current. Any notes not required are shredded.
If you attend any of our Smovey Health or Helping People with Parkinson’s Courses please be assured that we do not share your personal details, Photos or information with any other company without your consent.
We take careful precautions to protect your information when you submit it to us via website or face to face. Here is how
- We will not sell, rent or give away your information to anyone
- When we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us securely
- If we take your credit card details over the phone, we input it directly into the secure machine. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept locked in our office, in a security alarmed building.
- If we ever have to write your card details down (this will only happen face to face and you will be aware) the details are kept on the member of staff who will process them within 24 hours and then they will shredded.

Whilst these are the companies we use, they will not have access to your details unless it is 100% needed. We have investigated the data security compliance of each company we partner with, and we have gathered copies of their individual compliance documents and policies which we can send you or you can request them directly from these companies.

We use a locked filing cabinet to store any contracts and essential business notes in. This is monitored and tidied several times every year to ensure all data is current. Any notes not required are shredded.
The criteria used to determine the period of storage of personal data is the respective statutory retention period. After expiration of that period the corresponding date is routinely deleted as long as it’s no longer necessary for the fulfillment of the contract or the initiation of a contract or in the running of day to day business.
